The purpose of this test is to help diagnose or monitor Pre-Diabetes, Type 1 Diabetes, Type 2 Diabetes, and Gestational Diabetes.
The test is conducted via a blood sample, and the lab is able to examine:
- Urine Creatinine
- Urine Microalbumin
- Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (glucose, liver enzymes, kidney function, thyroid, electrolytes, carbon dioxide)
- Urinalysis (ketones, glucose, bilirubin, pH, proteins, specific gravity)
- HbA1c.
Diabetes is a disease that affects the body's ability to process glucose. Too much glucose in the blood can have serious implications for a person's health, and may lead to the worsening of overall function. By testing for diabetes, the panel helps clients understand how well their body is using glucose, how well their medication is working, or if they show risk-factors for developing diabetes.
The test is conducted in the lab, using a blood sample collected from the client's arm. Results are emailed to clients through Elation within 48 hours of the appointment. They are available at select clinics for $50, or for House Call appointments in Los Angeles for $100. To schedule, please go to samedayhealth.com.
