What is the diabetic panel?

The diabetic panel can diagnose Type 1, Type 2, and Gestational Diabetes. This test includes a Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (glucose, liver enzymes, kidney function, thyroid, electrolytes, carbon dioxide) and HbA1c. Diabetes is a chronic disease and is a prime risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Elevated blood glucose/sugar is a sign that your body either isn't making enough insulin—the hormone that moves sugar into the cells to be used for energy—or isn't using insulin efficiently. High blood sugar levels can indicate that you have diabetes or prediabetes, as well as an elevated HbA1c. The collection method is a blood draw, and results will be available through the Sameday App and portal.
