Acute inflammation produces very obvious and immediate symptoms such as redness, pain, warmth, or swelling. Chronic inflammation is more of a graduate and subtle process and when symptoms do appear, they can include fatigue, muscle aches and joint pain, constipation, diarrhea, weight changes, headaches, and skin rashes. Chronic inflammation can lead to issues with the gastrointestinal system, Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, cancer, anxiety and depression, high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, asthma, allergies, skin conditions, and arthritis.
